A Brief Introduction to the School of Advanced Engineering

As the specific implementing organization of "experimental field" and "excellence plan" for the cultivation of engineering talents, the School of Advanced Engineering was established on November 8, 2010. It is a special school of interdisciplinary "college" system, which is the first in the implementation mechanism of "Plan of Excellence". From the aspects of organizational structure, operation mechanism, training mode, school-enterprise cooperation, international training and so on, the college constantly explores and summarizes the engineering education training system that can be operated, replicable and can be used for reference, and explores the management mode of engineering talent training in the new era. The college is composed of integrated office, student work office, international engineering education center, advanced manufacturing and processing base, electronic technology practice base, innovation and entrepreneurship base, iron and steel production virtual simulation practice teaching platform. The secretariat of China Metallurgical Industry Outstanding engineer training Alliance and the Secretariat of the Management Committee of the National Engineering practice Education Center established by the school and enterprise are standing here. The running team of the college is composed of 52 managers and teaching assistants. No teacher posts are set up. All teachers are appointed from other colleges and cooperative enterprises. There are six majors in material Science and Engineering (Excellence Program), Mechanical Engineering (Excellence Program), Metallurgical Engineering (Excellence Program), Mineral Resources Engineering (Excellence Program), Automation (Excellence Program), Thermal Energy and Power Engineering (Excellence Program). All students who enter the Program of Excellence are managed in accordance with the engineering pilot class. So far, the cumulative number of students entering the Program of Excellence has reached more than 1400. In recent years, the employment rate of undergraduate graduates has remained at 100%, and the rate of further education has been 83. 3%.
